Jane Markley is a lifelong Kansan from Overland Park, Kansas. She grew up spending weekends

horseback riding on her grandparents’ farm and graduated from Pembroke Hill High School. She

then earned a B.A. in Politics with a certificate in History and the Practice of Diplomacy from

Princeton University. Since high school, Jane has worked walking doors for various moderate

candidates in Kansas. This interest extended to her Junior Paper and Thesis which both

concerned the voting habits of rural Americans. She now lives in Overland Park, Kansas and

continues her research into gendered healthcare’s impact on voting behavior. When free, she

enjoys painting various architecture in the Kansas capital.
